Dark skies...

I've just been watching the second of Robson Green's “Tales from Northumberland. The remote landscapes are wonderful, but the thing that moved me most was the amazing display of stars in the dark skies away from the creeping light pollution elsewhere.

No wonder our ancestors had a sense of mystery and a sense of our fragile place in the vastness of the universe. Breathtaking!
