I’m a Christian who owns an iPhone and an iPad (please don’t judge me!) I set out some time ago to discover any apps presenting spiritual disciplines to help in spending time with God and building a relationship with him.

As most of us carry our phones or tablets with us all the time, apps that help us spend time with God are   enormously useful. I guess for those of us who’d like some scriptural basis for using gadgets in our spiritual  disciplines, I’d like to think that when God gave Moses a couple of tablets on Sinai to help people with their spiritual lives there might be something prophetic about it! (Sorry to those of you who think this attempt at humour is inappropriate.)

Things like this are terribly personal, so what I’m presenting here are just a few that I have used from time to time, and found really helpful, along with a smaller number I use regularly…no doubt others could offer a different selection, and that’s OK. My apologies to those of you who have Android devices…I’m certain that many of these apps are also available for other portable platforms (indeed I use some of them on my laptop as well).
